Our commitment to copyright
CAST IPTV respects the rights of creators, broadcasters and rights holders. We comply with the notice-and-takedown provisions of the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and with the Copyright Act of Canada. We respond quickly and in good faith to every valid copyright complaint we receive.
We maintain this policy publicly, keep a designated contact for copyright matters, and act on properly submitted notices without delay. Protecting intellectual property is something we take seriously, not a formality.
Important: what CAST IPTV is and is not
CAST IPTV is a technology and access service. We do not host, store, upload, record, broadcast or transmit any television channel, film, series or other media file on our own servers. We do not own or control the content that passes through third-party streams.
Because we do not host content, in most cases the correct party to receive a takedown request is the operator of the origin server or the content source. Even so, we will always review any notice you send us and pass it to the responsible party or disable access where we are able to do so.
How to file a DMCA takedown notice
If you are a copyright owner, or an agent authorised to act on the owner's behalf, and you believe your work has been made available in a way that infringes your rights, send a written notice to our designated copyright contact at help@supportiptv.ca with the subject line "DMCA Notice".
To be valid under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following: (1) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorised agent; (2) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (3) identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it, such as the exact channel name, title or stream reference; (4) your full contact information, including name, mailing address, telephone number and email; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
Incomplete notices may delay our response. Please include every element above so we can act on your request quickly.
What happens after we receive a valid notice
On receiving a complete and valid notice, we will review it promptly and, where the material is within our control, disable or remove access to the identified material. Where the material originates from a third-party source, we will forward your notice to the responsible operator and take reasonable steps to have access disabled.
We may also notify the affected subscriber or partner that a notice was received, as permitted by law, so that they may respond or submit a counter-notice.
Counter-notice process
If you believe material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to help@supportiptv.ca. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g), your counter-notice must include: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and telephone number, together with a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.
On receipt of a valid counter-notice we may restore the material in line with the DMCA, unless the original complainant files a court action seeking to restrain the activity.
Repeat-infringer policy
In appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, CAST IPTV will suspend or terminate access for subscribers, resellers or partners who are found to be repeat infringers. We reserve the right to take action against any account associated with repeated or flagrant infringement.
Filing false notices
Please note that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Submit notices in good faith only.
