Setting up CAST IPTV takes about five minutes on most devices. Once you subscribe, we email you a set of login details. These are your Xtream Codes credentials, which means a server URL (sometimes called the portal or host), a username, and a password. Some apps ask instead for a single M3U URL, which we also include in the same email. Keep that email handy before you start, because you will type these details into whichever app you choose.
You do not need any technical skill to get going. Pick your device from the list below, install the recommended player, enter the details we sent you, and your channels and movies load on their own. Every device we support works a little differently, so we have written out the exact steps and the real button names for each one.
A few quick tips before you begin. A wired Ethernet connection is more stable than Wi-Fi and cuts down on buffering, especially for 4K. You want at least 15 Mbps for HD and around 25 Mbps for 4K. Your username and password are case sensitive, so type them exactly as they appear, with no extra spaces at the start or end. If you get stuck at any point, our support team is available by live chat and email to walk you through it.
What you need before you start
- Your CAST IPTV welcome email, which contains your server URL (portal), username, and password, plus your M3U link
- A stable internet connection: 15 Mbps or faster for HD, 25 Mbps or faster for 4K (wired Ethernet preferred over Wi-Fi)
- The device you want to watch on, such as a Firestick, Android box, Smart TV, phone, tablet, computer, or set-top box
- A few minutes to download the player app and enter your details
- Optional but recommended: a VPN if your home internet provider throttles or blocks streaming traffic

Amazon Firestick / Fire TVIBO Player Pro6 min
- From the Firestick home screen, go to the search icon at the top left, type Downloader, and install the orange Downloader app from Amazon.
- Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and turn on Install Unknown Apps for Downloader. On some models this is under Apps from Unknown Sources.
- Open the Amazon Appstore search again, type IBO Player Pro, and install it. On Fire TV it is available directly from the store, so you may not even need Downloader.
- Open IBO Player Pro. The first screen shows your device MAC Address and a Device Key. Write both of these down or take a photo.
- On a phone or computer, open a web browser and go to iboproapp.com, then choose Manage Playlists.
- Enter the MAC Address and Device Key from your TV screen and log in.
- Choose Add Playlist, then Xtream Codes API. Give it a name like CAST IPTV, then paste the server URL, username, and password from your welcome email. Save it.
- Go back to the Firestick, close IBO Player Pro fully, then reopen it. Your channels, movies, and guide will load automatically.
Tip. IBO Player Pro charges a one-time small app fee from the app developer, not from us. If the app asks for an M3U link instead, use the M3U URL from your welcome email.
Amazon Firestick / Fire TVTiViMate8 min
- Install the Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore using the search icon.
- Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and enable Install Unknown Apps for Downloader.
- Open Downloader, type the TiViMate download address into the URL box (troypoint.com/tivimate or the official Play Store link), and let it download and install the APK.
- Once installed you can delete the APK file to save space, then open TiViMate.
- On the first screen choose Add Playlist, then Enter URL, then select Xtream Codes.
- Type a name such as CAST IPTV, then enter the server URL, username, and password from your welcome email.
- If you would rather use the M3U method, choose M3U instead and paste the single M3U link from your email.
- TiViMate will download your channel list. When asked about the EPG, allow it to load the built in guide so you get the program schedule.
- Open the settings gear to arrange favourites and pick your default layout, then start watching.
Tip. TiViMate has a free version and a paid Premium version. The core live TV features work on the free version. Premium adds multiple playlists, recording, and picture in picture.
Android Phone / Tablet / TV BoxIPTV Smarters Pro5 min
- Open the Google Play Store, search for IPTV Smarters Pro, and install it.
- Open the app and accept the terms when prompted.
- On the home screen tap Add User or Add New User.
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter any name you like, such as CAST IPTV, then type your username, your password, and the server URL from your welcome email.
- Tap Add User to save. The app loads your Live TV, Movies, and Series sections.

Tip. If login fails, check for a stray space before or after your username or password, and make sure the server URL starts with http and includes the port number if we provided one.
Samsung Smart TVIBO Player / SmartOne IPTV7 min
- Press the Home button, open the Samsung Apps store, and search for IBO Player. SmartOne IPTV is a good alternative if IBO is not in your region.
- Install and open the app. It will show your device MAC Address and a Device Key or activation code.
- On a phone or computer, go to the app activation website (iboproapp.com for IBO, or the SmartOne site).
- Enter the MAC Address and Device Key, then add a playlist using Xtream Codes with your server URL, username, and password, or paste your M3U link.
- Save the playlist, then restart the app on your Samsung TV.
- Your channels load automatically.
Tip. Not every Samsung model carries these apps in its store. If the search returns nothing, the simplest fix is to plug a Firestick or Android box into an HDMI port and follow those steps instead.
LG Smart TVIBO Player / IPTV Smarters7 min
- Press Home, open the LG Content Store, and search for IBO Player. On newer webOS models with Google Play you can also install IPTV Smarters Pro.
- Install and open the app, then note the MAC Address and Device Key shown on screen.
- On a browser go to the app activation page, enter the MAC and Device Key, and add your playlist using the Xtream Codes server URL, username, and password, or your M3U link.
- Restart the app on your LG TV and your content appears.
- If you installed IPTV Smarters instead, just add a new user with Login with Xtream Codes API and enter your details directly on the TV.
Tip. LG does not have a native Smarters app on older models. When in doubt, an external Firestick or Android box is the most reliable route on any TV brand.
iPhone / iPadIPTV Smarters / IBO Player5 min
- Open the App Store, search for IPTV Smarters or IBO Player, and install it. GSE Smart IPTV also works well on iOS.
- Open the app and, if asked, allow it to check for content.

- Enter a name such as CAST IPTV, then your username, password, and server URL from the welcome email.

Tip. AirPlay lets you mirror your iPhone or iPad to an Apple TV or compatible television if you want it on the big screen.
Apple TVIPTV Smarters / iPlayTV5 min
- On Apple TV 4K or HD (tvOS), open the App Store and search for IPTV Smarters. iPlayTV and GSE Smart IPTV are solid alternatives.
- Install and open the app.
- Choose Add User or Add Playlist, then Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter a name, then your username, password, and server URL from your welcome email.
- Save, and your channels and on demand content load automatically.
- If you prefer the M3U method, choose Add M3U URL and paste the M3U link from your email instead.
Tip. Only the newer Apple TV boxes that run tvOS support these apps. The very old Apple TV 3 does not, so use AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad in that case.
MAG BoxBuilt-in portal (Stalker)6 min
- Turn on the MAG box and go to the main menu, then open Settings, then System Settings, then Servers, then Portals.
- In Portal 1 URL, type the portal URL we send you for MAC based devices. Leave Portal 2 blank.
- Save the settings and reboot the box.
- During setup you will see your device MAC Address, which looks like 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. Send that MAC to our support team so we can lock your line to it.
- After we confirm your MAC is registered, reboot the MAG box once more and your channels load through the portal.
Tip. MAG boxes use the portal method, not Xtream Codes. Tell us your MAC address when you order or by live chat so we can authorise it. If channels do not appear, double check the portal URL for typos and confirm we have your exact MAC.
Windows PC / LaptopVLC / IPTV Smarters5 min
- For a dedicated player, download IPTV Smarters for Windows or M3U Loader, install it, add a user with Login with Xtream Codes API, and enter your server URL, username, and password.

- Open VLC, click Media, then Open Network Stream.
- Paste the M3U link from your welcome email into the URL box and click Play.
- VLC loads the channel list in its playlist panel. Double click any channel to watch.

MacVLC / IPTV Smarters5 min
- Download VLC for macOS from videolan.org and install it.
- Open VLC, click File, then Open Network, and paste your M3U link from the welcome email, then click Open.

- For a nicer interface, install IPTV Smarters or GSE Smart IPTV from the Mac App Store where available, then log in with your Xtream Codes server URL, username, and password.
Tip. If VLC will not open the stream, make sure you copied the whole M3U link. It is long and easy to cut off at the end.
Formuler Box (Z8, Z11, CC)MyTVOnline 2 / 36 min
- From the Formuler home screen, open the MyTVOnline app (MOL 2 or MOL 3).
- Choose Edit Service, then Add Portal to set the box up MAC style like a MAG, or choose the Xtream Codes option for username and password login.
- For the portal method, enter a nickname such as CAST IPTV, then paste the portal URL we send you, and press Connect. Note the MAC address in the top right and send it to us to authorise.
- For the Xtream method, choose Xtream Codes API, enter a nickname, then type your server URL, username, and password from the welcome email.
- Press Connect or OK, and MyTVOnline downloads your channels and guide.
- Reboot the box if the guide does not fill in right away.
Tip. Formuler boxes support both the portal (MAC) method and Xtream Codes. If you use the portal method, we need your MAC address to activate the line.
Dreamlink Box (T3, T4)OTT Player / IPTV Smarters6 min
- On the Dreamlink, open the OTT Player app that comes preinstalled, or install IPTV Smarters from the Google Play Store on T4 models.
- In OTT Player, go to Settings, choose the Xtream Codes or portal login, and enter your details.
- For Xtream Codes, type your server URL, username, and password. For the portal method, enter the portal URL and send us your MAC address to activate.
- Save and reload, and your channels appear.
- If you prefer IPTV Smarters, open it, tap Add User, choose Login with Xtream Codes API, and enter your server URL, username, and password.
Tip. Dreamlink T4 runs full Android TV, so any Play Store player works. Older T3 boxes work best with the built in OTT Player.
Troubleshooting common problems
Video keeps buffering or freezing
Buffering is almost always an internet issue. Test your speed and aim for at least 15 Mbps for HD or 25 Mbps for 4K. Switch from Wi-Fi to a wired Ethernet cable if you can, since it is far more stable. Restart your router and your device, close other apps that use bandwidth, and if your home provider is known to throttle streaming, try a VPN. Lowering the stream from 4K to HD on that channel also helps on slower connections.
The app will not open or crashes on launch
Update the app to the newest version from its store. If it still fails, clear the app cache and data in your device settings, then reopen it and enter your details again. A full device reboot fixes most one time glitches. If a sideloaded APK is misbehaving, uninstall it and reinstall a fresh copy.
Channels load but the guide (EPG) is missing or wrong
Give the guide a few minutes to download the first time, as it can be a large file. In the app settings, make sure the EPG is enabled and set to auto update, then choose Refresh EPG or reload the playlist. In TiViMate and IPTV Smarters there is a dedicated update guide option. If times look shifted, check that your device time zone is set correctly to your local Canadian zone.
Credentials are rejected or login fails
Your username and password are case sensitive, so type them exactly as they appear in the welcome email with no extra spaces before or after. Make sure you used the correct server URL, including http and the port number if we included one. Confirm you chose Login with Xtream Codes API rather than the M3U option, or the other way around, to match the details you are entering. If it still fails, your subscription may not be active yet, so contact us to confirm your line is live.
Portal or MAG device shows no channels
Portal and MAG style setups need your MAC address registered on our end. Double check the portal URL for typos, then send us the exact MAC address shown on your device by live chat so we can authorise it. Reboot the box after we confirm. If it still fails, verify the portal URL has no trailing slash or space.
Picture quality is poor or channels look low resolution
Check your internet speed first, since apps often drop to a lower quality when bandwidth is tight. In the player settings, set the decoder to hardware or auto for smoother playback. Some channels are simply broadcast in HD rather than 4K. If a specific channel looks bad while others are fine, that source may be having a temporary issue, so try it again later or let us know.
Installation FAQ
How long does it take to get set up?
Most customers are watching within about five minutes. You install one app, enter the login details we email you, and your channels load on their own. Sideloading on a Firestick can take a couple of extra minutes the first time.
What information do I need before I start?
You need the welcome email we send after you subscribe. It contains your server URL (also called the portal or host), your username, and your password, which together make up your Xtream Codes login. We also include a single M3U link for apps that use that method instead.
Which app should I use on my device?
On Firestick and Android, IBO Player Pro, TiViMate, and IPTV Smarters are all excellent. On Samsung and LG, IBO Player or SmartOne work well. On iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, IPTV Smarters or IBO Player are the go to choices. On a computer, VLC is the quick option and IPTV Smarters is the full featured one.
What internet speed do I need?
Aim for at least 15 Mbps for smooth HD and around 25 Mbps for 4K. A wired Ethernet connection is more stable than Wi-Fi and is worth using on your main TV. If several people stream at once, more speed helps.
Can I use my subscription on more than one device?
Your plan covers a set number of connections at the same time. You can install the app on as many devices as you like, but you can only stream on the number of screens your plan allows at once. Contact us if you want to add more simultaneous connections.
Do I need a VPN to use CAST IPTV?
A VPN is not required. Some customers use one if their home internet provider throttles or slows down streaming traffic, since it can make playback smoother. If your streams are already stable, you do not need one.
Why does my login say the credentials are wrong?
The most common cause is a small typo or an extra space, since usernames and passwords are case sensitive. Copy and paste them carefully, and make sure you picked the Xtream Codes login if you are entering a username and password. If it still fails, message us so we can confirm your line is active.
Do you still support MAG boxes?
Yes, we support MAG boxes and other portal or MAC based devices such as Formuler and STB Emulator. For these we need the MAC address shown on your device so we can register your line. Just send it to us by live chat and we will activate it.
Still stuck? We will set it up with you
Our bilingual team can walk you through any device on live chat, or set it up for you remotely. Most setups are done in a few minutes.
